152. The Rosie Project (Don Tillman #1)- Graeme Simsion

Title: The Rosie Project (Don Tillman #1)

Author: Graeme Simison

Rating: ★★★★

On the Shelves: Fiction> Contemporary

Meet Don Tillman. Don is getting married. He just doesn’t know who to yet. But he has designed a very detailed questionnaire to help him find the perfect woman. One thing he already knows, though, is that it’s not Rosie. Absolutely, completely, definitely not. (Goodreads 2015)

This book is just plain old adorable. I took it abroad with me to enjoy some light hearted romance after constantly having seen it in the bookstores, when I saw it in my local charity shop for £1 I was like “HELL YEAUH”. I’m so glad I picked this up. I hate to make the ever common comparison but if you like Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory, that is almost pretty much who Don Tillman is like. He likes routine. He likes logic and he does not like disorder and chaos- which is everything Rosie is. He constructs a project, “The Wife Project”, and when Rosie applies for it- thinking it is a job application, and not a “wife application”, things get a little unpredictable- you can imagine how stressed out Don gets! This book flew by for me, it reads at an nice pace and the writing is enjoyable. There is plenty of humour to match the sweet, sentimental moments throughout this book. I definitely want to read the sequel. I recommend this to anybody who has been after a good light, lovely read. It will make you laugh and it may even make you tear up a little bit.

haha thanks, I know it’s been done a million times before but it just….it’s a true comparison. When I was reading the book, I was instantly imagining Sheldon doing this!
